Online Registration Portal launched for IDEX and NAVDEX 2019

‘IDEX,’ a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC), has announced the launch of the Online Registration Portal for the upcoming edition of the International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX 2019) and the Naval Defence Exhibition & Conference (NAVDEX 2019). Exhibitors, experts, visitors, as well as local and international media representatives can now conveniently register for the two industry defining events that will focus on Abu Dhabi’s defence and aviation sectors. The electronic registration platform, which was launched for IDEX and NAVDEX 2017, comes as part of ADNEC’s strategy to develop services and facilities that cater to the needs and expectations of exhibitors and visitors, while providing them with an easy platform ensuring a smooth and seamless experience, in accordance with global MICE standards. IDEX and NAVDEX articulate the importance accorded to the defence sector as a key driver of economic growth within the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030.

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, IDEX 2019 will run from 17th to 21st February 2019 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. The 14th edition of IDEX is being organised by ADNEC in cooperation with the UAE Armed Forces and will be held in conjunction with NAVDEX 2019. The exhibitions have consolidated their position on the events map as leading destinations for reviewing the latest technologies in the field of defence where and the next edition will highlight the latest developments in this field related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Artificial Intelligence techniques, and their role in the development of land, naval and air defence systems.

Al Dhaheri also highlighted the importance of the online registration for the participants of IDEX and NAVDEX, in light of the record participation by international and regional defence manufacturers. He pointed out that these platforms align with ADNEC’s mission that falls in line with UAE vision 2021, of utilizing modern and smart technology for the service of society and economy. ADNEC accords a great priority to IDEX and NAVDEX due to their significant role in promoting Abu Dhabi and the UAE as important destinations on the global events landscape.

 

Saeed bin Khadim Al Mansouri, Director of IDEX and NAVDEX 2019, said: “The 14th edition of the exhibition, which has been primarily designed to facilitate knowledge sharing in the defence industry, has witnessed unprecedented demand by manufacturers, leaders, decision makers and government dignitaries, specializing in defence and security systems. The response to this exhibition has been overwhelming where 90 per cent of exhibition space has been sold out. The 2019 edition is expected to be the largest in history since the launch of IDEX 25 years ago. Exhibitors will gain access to a one-of-a-kind platform to showcase the latest innovations in the defence field, on an indoor and outdoor capacity of more than 130,000 square metres at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.”

 

“The two events enjoy a unique regional and international presence, as platforms that offer manufacturers a chance to showcase the latest equipment in smart and AI technologies in the fields of defence, security, and other related sectors. They provide a direct gateway to the latest advancements in land, air and naval defence technologies, thereby fast tracking the objectives of the UAE Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031 -that of making UAE the first in the field of AI investments in various sectors, leading to a more intelligent and effective future, and in line with Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030, of promoting the non-oil sectors in preparation for the post-oil phase” he added.

 

The next edition of IDEX will witness the celebration of the silver jubilee of the most strategically important tri-service defence exhibition, focusing on vital areas such as securing the coasts and borders, maintaining security and stability, combating infiltration and counter piracy. IDEX, which was held for the first time in 1993, provides a strategic platform to establish effective partnerships and strengthen channels of communications between those involved in the naval, air and land defence sectors, regionally and internationally.

 

Led by highly-qualified employees, the ADNEC team collaborated with international experts to develop an online event registration portal in 2016 that boasts of a user-friendly interface and features more advanced choices and registration options compared to the portal used in prior editions of the event, which contributed significantly to the tremendous success witnessed in the previous edition.

 

IDEX & NAVDEX 2017 welcomed more than 105,000 visitors, with more than 1,200 local, regional and international companies signing deals worth AED 19.17 billion. Over the years, both exhibitions have enhanced their reputation as active events supporting the UAE’s mission of economic diversification and have taken centre stage for senior decision-makers, experts and specialists in the defence sector.
