Brigadier (rtd.) Tim Allen is the Chief Executive Officer of Houbara Defence & Security LLC, a joint venture between QinetiQ plc and Middle East General Enterprises (MGE).
Established in the United Arab Emirates, Houbara provides access to QinetiQ’s portfolio of services and products. As a leading international supplier of defence and security technical expertise, QinetiQ is widely trusted as an independent source of discrete, well-informed advice and innovative solutions.
He has focused on the Middle East region throughout both his military and commercial careers. During 31 years of service with the British Army he gained operational experience in Northern Ireland, Oman, the Balkans, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
Following regimental command he specialised in the delivery of joint and combined arms training, culminating in command of the UK’s Collective Training Group.
He left the British Army in 2010 to join Cubic Defense Applications, before moving on to QinetiQ plc in 2013 as the company’s MENA Regional Director.
Whilst his current portfolio extends across multiple domains, he retains a keen interest in the potential of technology to enhance training and thereby improve operational performance.
