Dr. Bushra Al Blooshi is the Head of Research and Innovation at the Dubai Electronic Security Center (DESC), a part of Digital Dubai. Dr.Bushra is also the first Arab member of the World Economic Forum’s network of Global Future Councils in cybersecurity, and the Chair of the Digital Skills Committee at Digital Dubai.
Dr. Blooshi leads many strategic initiatives in the city of Dubai such as Dubai Cybersecurity Strategy, Dubai Cybersecurity R&D Agenda, and Dubai Cybersecurity Policies. She has more than 17 years of experience in digital transformation, cybersecurity, and strategy management. Dr Blooshi has held different positions in different industries and has participated in many local and international conferences. Dr. Blooshi is currently a member of several advisory boards and committees locally and internationally.
Dr. Bushra has a PhD in electrical and electronic engineering and a master’s degree in information security from Khalifa university. She has also another master in political science from Mohammad bin Rashed school of government in collaboration with Harvard university. Dr. Bushra’s research interests include cloud computing, cyber security, forensics, and cryptography.
Dr. Blooshi is the inventor of two patents in memory forensics and cloud security. She was recently awarded the Best Executive in Cybersecurity in the Middle East by the Women in Cybersecurity Middle East Organization. She was also the lead author of a Cybersecurity report published recently by the World Economic Forum in collaboration with international experts around the world.
