Tariq AlHashmi is the Director of Technology Adoption and Development in the newly established Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT). Within his role, Tariq is leading the efforts to increase the level of adoption of advanced technology within the UAE based industries as well as facilitate technology transfer and commercialization. His department is responsible for a portfolio of programs and initiatives around industry 4.0 adoption, technology commercialization, and workforce transformation to improve the competitiveness of the UAE’s manufacturing industries. Prior to joining the Ministry, Tariq occupied several roles in the nuclear industry for more than 7 years. Tariq holds a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nuclear engineering from Texas A&M University.
